Query Guidelines

Queries from all authors are welcome, for any type of project.
Non-fiction proposals are especially needed at this time. Writers from diverse or underrepresented communities are always strongly encouraged to query.

Please email your query letter to chris@kepneragency.com along with the first ten pages pasted into the body of your message. Attachments will not be opened unless requested. Non-fiction authors, please paste your full proposal into the body of your email. Don’t worry about the formatting! We’ll reach out to you if we want to see the pretty version. Your query letter should ideally include some information about yourself, as well as how you heard about The Kepner Agency.

Please note that not all queries will receive a response, but if we think we may be able to help you, we'll get in touch and ask to see more.
